Exercise 2: One experience, many stories

1. In group. Think about one common event or situation (for instance illness, financial problems, etc. …) 

2. Write down keywords. How do you tell the story of this event to a)  friends and family, b) to colleagues and managers, teachers, c) experts or caretakers… How would you tell the story of lived experience to all these different people having different roles in your life? 

3. Form small groups of 3 or 4 people and play the different stories. Each group plays one of the scenarios with one other person. The third and fourth person write down how the story is told. 

4.  Discuss a) the different ways of telling a story about one event and the strategic choices of the storyteller. b) about the role of listening.
